Whether you're an experienced beekeeper, thinking about getting your first hive, or simply interested in learning more about honey bees, you'll be very welcome at East Cork Beekeeping Association
You don't need to have bees or previous beekeeping experience to join.
Membership
Membership runs from January to December, and you can join at any time during the year.
Annual membership is currently €75, which includes:

Membership gives you the opportunity to learn, gain practical experience and meet other beekeepers.
Learn about beekeeping
Attend our lecture and discussion series, covering topics for both beginners and experienced beekeepers. Our sessions are friendly and informal, with plenty of opportunity to ask questions and share experiences.
Gain Practical Experience
During the summer, beginner members can attend our apiary demonstrations, where experienced beekeepers demonstrate practical beekeeping and hive management. Beginners benefit from the hands-on experience of working with real beehives.
Meet Other Beekeepers
Beekeeping is much more enjoyable when you have other beekeepers to talk to. Our members range from people starting their first hive to those with many years of experience, so there is always someone to learn from and share experiences with.
FIBKA membership
ECBKA membership includes membership of the Federation of Irish Beekeepers' Associations (FIBKA), giving you access to FIBKA events, the annual Summer School and An Beachaire, the monthly beekeeping magazine.
Insurance
Membership includes beekeeping insurance, an important benefit for members who keep bees and arrange apiary sites.
