There's always something happening at East Cork Beekeeping Association, from talks and discussions to practical apiary sessions, to honey shows and social events. Most of our events are educational, but they're also a great opportunity to meet other beekeepers, share experiences and enjoy being part of the association.

Lectures & Discussions

Each year we run two lecture and discussion series, typically with three events in each series.

Our Spring series takes place as the beekeeping season gets underway, while the Autumn/Winter series follows the end of the honey flow and honey harvest.

Talks are given by fellow members and cover a range of topics relevant to both new and experienced beekeepers. These are friendly, informal sessions where questions, discussion and sharing experiences are encouraged.

Apiary Demonstrations

During the summer, our beginner members can take part in practical apiary sessions at our own hives. These hands-on sessions are a great way to build confidence and learn about beekeeping in practice, with the support and guidance of our more experienced members.

Fota Honey Show

In the autumn, we run the Fota Honey Show, where members can enter a variety of competition categories and see the work and produce of fellow beekeepers.

Whether you enter the competitions or simply come along to enjoy the day, the Honey Show is a great opportunity to meet other beekeepers and enjoy a day out.

FIBKA Membership

East Cork Beekeeping Association is affiliated with the Federation of Irish Beekeepers' Associations (FIBKA). This gives our members access to FIBKA events, the annual Summer School and An Beachaire, the monthly beekeeping magazine delivered to your door.

Whether you're a beginner looking to learn the basics or an experienced beekeeper keen to share your knowledge, our events are a great way to get involved.
